CUPCAKE BUG GOES INTERNATIONAL

It just so happens that the first 3 people I've received creatures from this month are all international, so Berube-Bug #4 will be heading to: Angela Behrendt - Hannover Germany, DEWI - Toronto Ontario Canada and Lisette Candela - La Rochelle France.

I'll be heading out of town for the next couple of weeks or so, will probably be updating my BERUBE BLOG with pics of my travels, but all bugs received will be replied to upon my return.

FINAL BATCH OF B. RANDY PEPPAPLANTA

I'm on my way to the post office and will be sending out the last of the B. Randy Peppaplanta bug. (That is unless I find another one buried under the mess on my desk) This small grouping is going out to Helene Lagache - France, Helene Lacelle - Canada, and Matt, Kali, Sarah - Wisconsin. If you think I may have missed sending out an August bug to you, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I should have the first batch of Bug #4 in the mail tomorrow.

SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAY BERUBE-BUG

Since September is such a special month, being that so many brilliant people were born this month, I decided to go ahead and create a Birthday Berube-Bug in honor of these individuals. And, since I just happen to be going out of town for my birthday next week for an extended birthday/vacation combo, I decided to get September's bug ready to go before I left. This time around, there wasn't any initial sketch. Just a drawing directly from my head on to the piece of linoleum, a few adjustments and then cut as I see fit, and print. Presto magic. I'll have a few in the mail by Monday for the couple of people who have already sent their September contribution to my monthly creature collection. Any creatures received after Weds. will have to wait until my return around the 23rd in order to be scanned and posted to the blog.

Below are pics from the creating/cutting/printing process. Tomorrow, I'll go ahead and scan the final printed piece after it's dry.

MONICA REX - LOST IN SPACE

I often times wonder how many of the hundreds of postcards I've sent out over the past couple of years actually make it to theire destination and how many become casualties to the US Postal Service. It was quite a surprise when yesterday I opened up the mailbox and discovered a returned postcard from my "Portrait" series but not nearly as big of a surprise as when I discovered that I had sent the postcard out on October 7th, 2007. Almost 11 months to the date. I figure since it was going to a P.O. Box, the recipient must have moved or never paid her box fees and eventually the mail got sent back. But, almost 1 year later, WOW!!! If anyone reading this happens to have a current return address for Ms. Monica Rex, let me know, I'd love to slap a stamp on this and resend.

POST TO: SELF / B. RANDY PEPPAPLANTA

At the end of each month, I like to send myself one of the bugs created as documentaion of what was going on in my life during that month. This time around since the B. Randy Peppaplanta original image was larger than usual, and I had plenty of embellishments to add to the image, I decided to create a 2-piece postcard. Now, it's up to the NY Postl Sercive as to whether I get both pieces back.

FIRST BUGS RECEIVED FOR SEPTEMBER

DEWI / Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - "PESTS OR BUGS"

ANGELA BEHRENDT / Hannover GERMANY - "ABSTRACT BUG"
